Sicilian organic agricultural legumes
Grown with care in the fertile soils of Contrada Quartarella, Tre di Oro Chickpeas are a versatile and nutritious food. Used in the kitchen to prepare soups, side dishes, or as a base for creative dishes, our chickpeas are rich in plant proteins, fiber, and minerals. Thanks to their role in crop rotation, chickpeas help keep the soil healthy, improving its fertility. Follow tradition and discover the goodness of Tre di Oro legumes, perfect for a balanced and tasty diet.
Preparation tips: Tre di Oro chickpeas are naturally tender and flavorful, thanks to organic cultivation and careful seed selection. Before cooking, rinse them thoroughly and check for any foreign bodies or hard seeds, removing them carefully.
Then soak them in cold water for several hours (at least 6 hours), adjusting the time based on the desired result: a longer soak will make them even softer and creamier (10-12 hours), while a shorter soak will keep them firmer (6-8 hours). Once drained, place them in a pot with plenty of clean water, bring to a boil, and continue cooking over low heat until the desired tenderness is reached.
Season to taste at the end of cooking with Tre di Oro extra virgin olive oil, aromatic herbs, or spices.
Tre di Oro chickpeas pair perfectly with Pastaredda, to create wholesome and complete dishes that combine legumes and cereals in a natural balance of flavors and nutritional values.
